KHAOS™ Replacement Filter
3-way HEPA filter for KHAOS™
HEPA-Grade MERV16 replaceable 3-way filter to capture particulates, with activated carbon for odors
HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) is a type of air filter consisting of an interwoven matrix of densely packed fibers that create a very small pathway for air to travel through. This net of fibers captures microscopic particulates and filters them out of the air you breathe which ultimately helps improve indoor air quality.
HEPA filters collect harmful microscopic particles that come from things like combustion smoke, smog, and diesel exhaust. Because of their small size, these particles can go deep into your lungs as you breathe. By contrast, larger particles (such as the pollen that aggravates your allergies) can be captured by your body's own filtration system (i.e., your nose and throat) rather than going into your lungs. That's why HEPA filtration is so critical to capturing those microscopic particles.
MAIN FEATURES & TECHNOLOGY
- Multi-layer filter w/catalyst: Hepa MERV16 + Carbon + Pre-filter @ *CADR 300 m³/hr
- Replaceable 3-way filter to capture particulates
- Pre-Filter captures large particles such as dust, hair, lint, pet fur
- Activated Carbon odor filtration reduces household odors and VOCs (volatile organic compounds)/gases such as smoke, pollution odors, cooking fumes, pet odors
- HEPA-Grade MERV 16 filter removes airborne particles such as allergens, pollen, dust, germs, pet dander, odor, mold spores, and smoke from air that passes through the filter
- Indicator signals filter change (vacuum quarterly, replace annually)
- The filter icon on the top control panel lights up when the cumulative working time of 2000h are detected
Cleaning, Maintenance, Replacement
Generally, you can clean* your replaceable HEPA filter about once every three to four months and replace it annually. It is important to clean/replace the HEPA filter periodically, to keep the KHAOS™ unit in working condition.
- Clean the HEPA pre-filter about once every three to four months of constant use by using the brush attachment of your vacuum cleaner to gently remove dust and debris.
- Replace the HEPA filter every 2000 hours or about every 12 months of constant use. When the cumulative working time of 2000h are detected by the KHAOS™ the filter icon on the control panel lights up, indicating your filter needs to be changed/replaced.
- RESET: After cleaning or replacing with a new filter, press and hold the filter button on the control panel for 5 seconds to reset
** NEVER use water or any household cleaners or detergents to clean the HEPA filter. Liquids like water and soap will break down the soft fibers inside the filter media and ruin it.
** We also do not recommend using compressed air to clean filters under any circumstances. To ensure no damage is done to the filter media, the pressure of the compressed air would have to be so low it would be ineffective at cleaning.

DBI Cell 3"
Keep your air purification products running at peak efficiency with regular maintenance and replacement parts.
MCI™ 3" DBI Cell
The DBI cell (Dielectric Barrier Ionizer) produces aggressive ionized oxidizers (without producing ozone) and multi-clustered ions that are then distributed throughout the indoor environment to clean air and surfaces. While great for eliminating odors, it also eliminates germs, fungus, and allergens, and breaks down more than 200 hazardous chemicals.
This is the replacement DBI cell used in the following units: MCI™22K, MCI PureSynAIRg™, MCI™ BREEZE fan, MCI SynAIRgPure™ HVAC Probes (20K/30K, 24K, 40K models), MCI SynAIRgPure™ Mini 4, MCI™ PROTECTAIR, MCI™ SanitizAIR Curtain.
SPECS
- DBI Cell Part #: BLSAIO3CELL
- Power consumption (W): 1.5 watts
- Input Voltage (V): DC 12 volts
- Ozone negligible (Ozone is produced during the ionizing process but not more than what is produced by ceiling fans, copiers, or other electrical equipment)
Cleaning & Replacement Turn the unit OFF and remove the POWER CORD before performing any cleaning or maintenance to prevent injury. Review the Disassembly and Assembly Section of your owners manual before performing and cleaning and maintenance to prevent damage to the unit. All parts must be properly reinstalled before operating the unit. Failure to do so may damage the unit.
DISASSEMBLY: Locate the DBI CELL inside the unit at the front right side of the unit’s interior. Gently push the DBI CELL into it’s POWER CONNECTOR and rotate until it slightly ejects, then remove.
CLEANING: Using compressed air or a vacuum, blow/suck the dust out of the DBI Cell.
In some harsh environments, the DBI cell may accumulate a coating of toxins that will reduce the production of cluster ions. These can be cleaned by removing the cell from the unit, removing and then soaking the metal screen in an enzyme bath, wiping down the surface of the glass with an enzyme cleaner* and then allowing it to dry. Once dry, reassemble and reinstall.
*EnzyMagic201 is recommended for this process. This all purpose, non-toxic, 100% biodegradable, water-based concentrate can also be used to clean the electrostatic filters.
REASSEMBLY: Gently slide the DBI CELL into the POWER CONNECTOR, located on the right edge of the interior, then push and rotate until it locks into place.
REPLACEMENT: DBI Cells do wear out and should be replaced every three (3) years or when the blue LED signal lamp extinguishes, whichever comes first.
